Essential Skills London 2024
It began as a course.
Evolved into a book.
And culminated in an event.
The Essential Skills event at the Tate Modern reshaped how sports performance leaders, backroom staff, and business people think about collaboration, leadership, and development.
With speakers like Alicia Tang, James Kerr, Michelle Carney, Ashar Magoba, Ronan Conway, Mark Whittle, Jeff Konin, Jack McCaffrey and Trevor Bates, and an energy in the room that was pretty special, the event was a definitive moment for something special, for a move in culture for people working in sports and business.

Conversations are powerful.
In a world so often divided, setting the stage for people to talk is a beautiful thing.
There’s something special about a space where people can come together and just talk.
People from different backgrounds, with stories worlds apart, find the common ground between them.
It is in these moments, ideas spark, empathy grows...and suddenly, people understand each other a little bit better.
It’s easy to underestimate the impact of these conversations. But they’re what changes minds, and maybe, slowly, the world around us.

My Why
At the book launch in the Tate Modern, London I mentioned a huge 'why' behind this book for me. I am sharing all my book royalties with the Children's Health Foundation and Down Syndrome Ireland, due to the care and service for my daughter, Grace.

So we went up one mountain as a team. The question is, what's next now?
Another mountain. Has to be.
Let’s build on the momentum.
See you in Dublin.
Then perhaps Kilimanjaro…
